Postdoctoral Research Associate
(salary group EG 13 TV-L or A 13 NBesG, 100%, temporary for a period of five years)

The vacant position is assigned to Prof. Dr. Paul Drews, professor of information systems, in particular digital transformation and information management. It offers you the opportunity to advance your research and teaching profile in one of the professorship's focus areas (digital transformation, digital innovation, digital entrepreneurship, digital-sustainable co-transformation, transformation of the IT function, managing AI / AI transformation, enterprise architecture). You will develop and realize challenging research projects in collaboration with the professorship and partners in research and practice. Results of your work should be published in international high-ranked outlets. You will support the professorship in research and teaching and collaborate with other postdocs, doctoral students and the professorship's network in research and practice. You will actively support the acquisition of third-party funding through the development of proposals. Through your activities, you will increase your visibility in the international and national research community and expand your network. In teaching, you will develop innovative teaching formats and advance your teaching portfolio. One third of your working hours is dedicated to advancing your academic qualification (habilitation or preparation for a (junior) professorship).

Your tasks:

  • Develop and realize innovative research projects and publish the results in high-ranked international journals and at leading conferences also jointly with PhD students and international research partners
  • Advance your teaching portfolio by developing and realizing innovative teaching formats and support the professorship in offering recurring courses (teaching obligation: 4 hours per week)
  • Acquire and manage third-party projects for establishing and expanding your own research group and support the professorship in acquiring and managing third-party funded projects
  • Further academic qualification: Implement projects to develop a distinctive research profile, publish research results, work on a cumulative habilitation thesis or habilitation-equivalent achievements and develop the ability to design and execute research projects
  • Participate in selected academic self-administration activities

Your profile:

  • Completed academic university degree (Master's or equivalent) in the field of information systems or related disciplines (e.g. business administration, computer science)
  • Doctorate with very good results in information systems or related disciplines (e.g. business administration, computer science); the doctorate must be completed by the time the position starts
  • International visibility in your field of research proven by peer-reviewed publications and international network
  • Ambitions for a successful career in academia
  • Sound knowledge of theories and research methods in information systems and interest in expanding this knowledge
  • Willingness and interest in interdisciplinary and international collaboration
  • Initial experience in the acquisition of third-party funding, project management of research projects and cooperation with companies in research projects is desirable
  • Teaching experience, preferably in English and German
  • Very good analytical and conceptual skills as well as a strong focus on results when working independently and in a team
  • Team spirit, organizational talent and creativity
  • Excellent command of English; very good knowledge of German is of advantage
