Vita

Lea Jakob is a research associate and PhD student at the Institute of Management & Organisation at the Leuphana University as well as a lecturer for Arts Management at the Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences.

Since 2023, she is the project coordinator of the “Leuphana Concert Lab” – a transdisciplinary teaching project at the Leuphana University. As a cultural manager, she continues to work freelance with the Lyceum Orchestra in Havana and the Orchester im Treppenhaus in Germany, among others.

 

Lea Jakob studied International Cultural and Business Studies with a specialisation in Italian Cultural Studies in Passau, Parma and Perugia. After graduating, she completed a Master's degree in Management and Entrepreneurship at the Leuphana University in Lüneburg. Professional positions in marketing, fundraising, project management and music education led her to Elbphilharmonie & Laeiszhalle, TONALi, Heidelberger Frühling and the Balthasar Neumann Ensemble, among others. From 2015 to 2022, she was coordinator of the Cuban-European Youth Academy and developed exchange and training programmes for young musicians in Europe and Cuba.

In her thesis, supervised by Prof. Dr. Raphaela Henze (Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences) and Prof. Dr. Sigrid Bekmeier-Feuerhahn (Leuphana University Lüneburg), she investigate the resilience of musical communities in times of crisis.
