Wearing long robes, throwing their hats in the air, listening to the speeches and celebrating extensively with the graduates and their relatives and friends - moments that unfortunately are not possible in times of Covid-19. The longed-for graduation ceremony took place online for the first time on November 20.

It was a digital eye-catcher: the different screens shone differently with disco lights, garlands and balloons. The graduates - some of them with relatives and friends in the background - had prepared for their celebration and have decorated their homes around the screen. With interactive parts such as surveys and stamping a map of Germany, the graduate party was creatively and entertainingly relaxed. Prof. Dr. Jörg Philipp Terhechte, Director of the Professional School, welcomed the students. The program was accompanied by a jazz band, which was played live from the central building. The digital graduation ceremony was very well received by the graduates. "We simply didn't want the students to have to miss one of the most beautiful moments of their university education and the graduating class simply disappearing into the corona fog," said Prof. Dr. Terhechte.

Each student was given his or her own personal 'Moment of Shine', in which he or she stood on the virtual stage and received a certificate from the course directors. All students had also received a graduate box by post in advance. This way the familiar hat could be thrown into the air together - even if only virtually.
