Manufacturing Engineering Internship

Location: Lisburn, United Kingdom, on-site

Role Description

This is an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate to apply their knowledge within a fast-paced engineering environment while contributing to operational excellence and innovation. Mentored throughout by the Technical Director and experienced engineering team, you will gain hands-on experience in project management, manufacturing processes, supplier engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, sustainability, waste reduction, and operational performance. You will support the delivery of engineering projects; tool manufacture, injection moulding, and supply chain operations. By the end of the internship, you will have developed demonstrable practical engineering, project management and problem[1]solving skills. Tasks

·         Support the planning, tracking and delivery of tooling and manufacturing projects.

·         Analyse production and process data to identify opportunities for improvements.

·         Work with supply chain partners to support their entire engineering projects.

·         Tool build, assembly, repair and validation activities to develop an understanding of injection moulding technologies and best practice.

·         Research and evaluate emerging manufacturing technologies and present findings.

·         Collaborate with customer engineers, universities and academic partners on process improvement, manufacturing innovation and technical development initiatives.

Desired Skills

·         Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering, Materials Engineering or similar.

·         A genuine interest in precision engineering.

·         An analytical approach with strong organisational and project coordination skills.

·         Confident communication skills.

·         Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation (desirable).

·         Awareness of manufacturing processes an advantage.

·         Good numerical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office.

·         A proactive attitude and able to work independently and as part of a team.
