Diversity Day 2023

For the seventh time, Leuphana University is taking part in the nationwide "Diversity Day"! Around 23 May, several events will focus on the topic of "disability and accessibility". All members of the university are welcome to attend!

You think you know all forms of discrimination? And you know what can happen to whom, who has what rights? No? Take a look in the "Bad Box" of the Anti-Diskriminierungsstelle diversu e.V., let us surprise you - and come and talk to us!
Be there on Tuesday, 23 May from 11.00 to 14.00 on campus in front of building 9.

Would you like to learn more about living with a visual impairment or share your own perspective on this topic? Then come to C16.204 on 23.05.2023 either from 13.00 to 15.00 or from 15.30 to 17.30! The Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired of Lower Saxony offers students and employees of Leuphana University Lüneburg the opportunity to learn more about life with a visual impairment. In the two-hour interactive workshop „Sehbehinderung, und dann?", participants are to be informed about and sensitised to the topic of blindness/visual impairment and experience the topic for themselves using their own experiences and a comprehensive description of aids, typical eye diseases and legal framework conditions. The presentation and exercises will be led by people affected and are also open to any questions.

How accessible is our campus? We want to approach this question together with you on 24th of May as part of the Diversity Day 2023 action week with a campus tour. We will start at 12.00 at the canteen and then visit various places on campus that are particularly interesting with regard to the topic of accessibility and where ambivalences also become clear. In addition to input from the responsible Leuphana University staff, you can also ask questions and make suggestions, criticisms and give feedback.
