Equality Fund

FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR EQUALITY AND EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES

Leuphana University Lüneburg has set up a gender equality fund of €16,000 per year to support projects in the area of gender equality, compatibility and diversity. All members of Leuphana University can apply for financial support and grants from the Equality Fund throughout the year for activities that contribute to the promotion of gender equality and equal opportunities at the university. Funding is available for:

  • Projects to promote gender and diversity-related topics in research, e.g. for the preparation of conferences and congresses, publications, projects.
  • Events that address issues of equal opportunities and gender equality and serve to promote the gender and diversity competence of university members, including individual events, conferences, specific courses, lecture series, projects, exhibitions, etc.
  • Measures to improve the compatibility of family and career/qualification. Funding can be provided, for example, for childcare costs at congresses, conferences and seminars as well as subsidies for congress fees and travel costs for doctoral students with child(ren) that are not reimbursed by another Leuphana funding programme.
  • Internal further training and qualification offers for staff.
  • The promotion of central and decentralised equal opportunities work in faculties and central institutions of Leuphana, e.g. through studant assistants hours and project funds.

Application

All university members are entitled to apply via their respective superiors. In the case of students, via the respective lecturers. Applications are submitted to the President with a copy to the Central Equal Opportunities Officer. The President decides on the award after consultation with the Central Equal Opportunities Officer. Applications can be submitted throughout the year.

The application must contain the following information:

  • Objective, content and period of the measure
  • Person(s) responsible for carrying out the measure
  • Amount of the application with a differentiated list.
