Care Exchange

Do you have a late afternoon or weekend appointment? Kindergarten is closed, school is cancelled and grandparents or friends can't fill in? Or maybe you just want to go out to dinner for once? In such cases, it's good to have a reliable caregiver.

The care exchange of the family service helps to establish contact between parents and caregivers. The caregivers we place are students who have completed pedagogical training before beginning their studies. The childcare exchange is not a substitute for regular childcare in a nursery or daycare facility. The Family Service only acts as an intermediary between caregivers and parents, but bears no further responsibility. The parties involved are responsible for making contact, agreeing on fees and arranging care times.

Parents who are looking for a caregiver for their children contact the Family Service with their care requests. The Family Service uses the childcare database to match wishes and childcare profiles and arranges the corresponding contact details. The Family Service of Leuphana takes over the placement free of charge. In the case of care, a contract between parents and caregiver must be concluded, for which we will provide you with a blank contract.

The costs for the care and other conditions are negotiated privately between the parties involved. Leuphana University of Lüneburg does not make any stipulations regarding rates of remuneration, nor is it entitled to demand specific rates of remuneration or minimum payments from students or employees for accepted assignments. The Family Service merely arranges for the caregivers to be placed with the parents, but bears no further responsibility. Once you have filled out our profile form, we can add you to our database and pass on your contact details to interested parents.
