"Picture a Scientist": Film screening (original version with German subtitles) and discussion 

The 2020 U.S. documentary "Picture a Scientist" follows three successful female scientists in STEM professions as they fight for equality, visibility and diversity in a male domain. Biologist Nancy Hopkins, chemist Raychelle Burks and geologist Jane Willenbring take us on a journey into their own experiences in science, ranging from brutal harassment to years of subtle insults. As we move from cramped labs to spectacular field stations, we meet scientific luminaries from a variety of research fields who offer new perspectives on how science itself can become more diverse, equitable and open to all.
