Subproject Emerging Tech Lab

The Emerging Tech Lab aims to systematically observe and classify new technological developments and highlight their potential for study and teaching at universities. The focus is on so-called ‘emerging technologies’ – technologies that are still in development but could have a disruptive impact on universities in the future.

The project supports universities in Lower Saxony with practical scenarios and sound recommendations for action to strengthen their responsiveness and innovation capacity and enable them to proactively shape technological change.

The central objectives and tasks of the project are:

• The early identification, discussion, testing and evaluation of new technologies in the educational context.
• Strengthening the ability of universities in Lower Saxony to actively use technological innovations and design future-proof educational spaces.
• Promoting a sustainable transformation that strengthens the innovative power of universities and raises the profile of Lower Saxony as a centre of education in both national and international comparison.

The project aims to achieve various outcomes that will give the diverse stakeholders in higher education and teaching opportunities for participation, knowledge and co-creation. The milestones of this project are located in these outcome dimensions:
