Proposals & Applications

The acquisition of third-party funding has become an integral part of research. Increasingly, funding is also available for the further development of teaching and learning, e.g. from the Foundation for Innovation in Higher Education Teaching, the Quality Plus and Innovation Plus funding lines of the Lower Saxony Ministry for Science and Culture or the Donors' Association. At Leuphana University of Lüneburg, projects for the further development of study and teaching are funded in particular through the Study Quality Fund (more information can be found on the intranet, in German, access via VPN).

The Foundation for Innovation in Higher Education Teaching (Stiftung für Innovation in der Hochschullehre) with its recurring calls for proposals "Freiraum" (in German) and "Lehrarchitektur" (in German) is particularly relevant. Within the framework of "Freiraum", teaching ideas can be developed and tested. There is no thematic or subject focus. We are looking for projects that stand out for their innovative potential.  "Lehrarchitektur" is about testing and structurally embedding innovations in teaching and learning. Universities can use this call to sharpen their profile and further develop structures for studying and teaching. In both cases, applications are coordinated by the Leuphana Teaching Service.

In addition, teaching awards are increasingly being announced (e.g., as part of the Lower Saxony Science Award or by the Stifterverband). The Stifterverband offers a good overview of teaching awards in Germany (in German).

In the teaching service you will receive professional support for applications for projects for teaching and curriculum development or for applications for teaching awards.
