Thematic cluster
In addition to their work in the sub-projects, the staff pursue overarching thematic goals in the clusters 'Digital Teaching-Learning Innovations', 'Data & Digital Literacy Education' and 'Digital Internationalisation'. At the strategic level, cluster patrons support the work of the clusters with their expertise. The Cluster Strategy Group and the Strategic Advisory Board coordinate the cluster objectives with Leuphana's strategic developments. In close cooperation with the cluster development teams, consisting of representatives of the subprojects and, if necessary, other colleagues from the university's thematic environment, the cluster goals are to be realised in the long term and consolidated within the university.
The sub-projects categorised in the thematic cluster Digital Teaching and Learning Innovation focus on the development of innovative teaching content and formats through the use of digital tools and media. In recent months and years, the cluster has organised various workshops to encourage experimentation with digital university teaching in the post-Covid society. In addition, the 10 Minute Digital Teaching lecture series has created the space to present the interim results of the sub-projects to the university public. Project results were presented at a number of national and international conferences and scientific publications were prepared in order to have an impact beyond the university community. In order to secure individual results from the cluster's activities in the long term, these are anchored in the Leuphana Teaching Service's continuing education programme in higher education didactics and discussed with stakeholders from the field in various exchange formats such as the Leuphana Salon.

The aim of the Data & Digital Literacy Education cluster is to introduce digital literacy education and thus to implement data skills that enable students to evaluate statements and contexts in a self-determined, reflective and responsible manner in the age of digitality. The cluster is also dedicated to reflecting on the learning and development processes of undergraduate and postgraduate students using digital formats.

- SP 7: DATAxtended - Implementation of a concept for the development of data literacy skills in the Bachelor's complementary study programme
- SP 8: DI-SZENARIO - Responsible introduction of digital innovations in organisations: A scenario-based approach
The aim of the Digital Internationalisation cluster is to cultivate a common understanding of digital internationalisation among all stakeholders at Leuphana and thus establish digital internationalisation in teaching at Leuphana as part of the general internationalisation strategy. The relevance of physical study abroad programmes for students is not being called into question. Instead, the cluster is testing teaching concepts to prepare students for a stay abroad or in terms of barrier-free internationalisation. The experiences and developed solutions from the three sub-projects will be bundled in the joint work in order to facilitate the development and implementation of digitally supported international courses.
