Your perspective for more diversity: Discuss the diversity concept with us

Where is there a need for action? What measures should be implemented in the next few years in the areas of diversity, equal opportunities and gender equality, accessibility and anti-discrimination? What does it take for appreciative cooperation to be lived out in teaching and studying?

With its diversity concept, Leuphana University of Lüneburg would like to offer the university community a concrete framework for action and orientation in order to further improve diversity and anti-discrimination work at the university. The concept includes the fields of action study and teaching, research and transfer, communication and public relations, counselling and support, campus development and infrastructure, staff selection and development, sensitisation, protection against discrimination and university culture. The diversity concept identifies existing and planned measures that should be implemented by 2026 if possible. The aim is to finalise the concept at the beginning of 2022 and to adopt it in the various committees in the spring.

During the interactive online event, students have the opportunity to get to know the structure of the draft and to discuss, prioritise and, if necessary, supplement measures.

Target group

The target group for this event are students of Leuphana University Lüneburg. In particular, students from socially marginalised groups are encouraged to participate and contribute their perspectives. Depending on the context, these groups may include, for example, people with disabilities and chronic illnesses, with a non-academic educational background, with their own or their family's history of migration or flight, women*, Sinti*ze and Rom*nja, members of religions, Black people, people of colour, members of the LGBTQI* community, as well as people affected by multiple discrimination. The order of listing does not imply any value judgement and is not exhaustive.
