Student assistant for the design of scientific graphics

The Vegetation Ecology and Biodiversity Conservation group is looking for a student assistant to support us in designing high-quality graphics for scientific publications or presentations. 

In this role, you will, amongst others, prepare info graphics which transform complex research findings into clear and visually compelling figures to effectively communicate science to academic and professional audiences. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the interface of research and visual communication while contributing to impactful conservation science.

Contract information: starting as soon as possible; 10-20 hours/month; ideally for a whole year with the perspective of a contract extension. 

Your tasks:

  • Creating infographics, graphical abstracts and conceptual figures
  • Visualization of results
  • Preparing slides for presentations and lectures

Your profile:

  • Experienced with graphical software (freeware) and in creating graphs and figures
  • Creative mind
  • A background in ecology is advantageous but not mandatory
  • Self-motivated, reliable and responsible
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Fluent in English
