Anna Holthaus: A Healthy Planet for all (Talk)

Why and How to Strengthen Gender Equality in International Chemicals Policy

31. Mai

Leuphana Campus

Wednesday, 14.15 pm - 15.00 pm in lecture hall 5 (HS5) followed by a festive conclusion

The year 2023 is significant for addressing the pollution crises: In September, decision-makers will negotiate a new international framework for chemicals management at the World Chemicals Conference in Bonn, Germany. In addition, the establishment of a global treaty on plastics as well as a new science-policy panel on chemicals, waste and pollution will be discussed.

To ensure a chemical-safe and sustainable future for all, gender experts and women's organisations are actively involved in these processes and advocate for a gender-responsive international chemicals policy. Anna Holthaus, Project Coordinator for Gender and Chemicals at the MSP Institute, will present current policy debates and women's activities and invites you to discuss a feminist perspective on chemicals policy.
