Hochschulen zeigen Haltung! Universities take a stance!

"Hochschulen zeigen Haltung" is a nationwide network of universities that actively promote democratic values, social responsibility, and an open, pluralistic society. Its supporters include the Anti-Discrimination Network at Universities, the Diversity Network at Universities, and the Federal Conference of Women's and Equal Opportunities Officers at Universities (bukof). The initiative highlights that universities are not only places of research and teaching, but also take responsibility for social coexistence.
The aim of the network is to take a stand against discrimination, racism, anti-Semitism, and all forms of misanthropy—while at the same time strengthening spaces for dialogue, critical thinking, and democratic education.

The network brings together universities that:

• are clearly committed to the fundamental values of democracy,
• promote academic freedom, diversity, and equal opportunities,
• actively engage in social debates,
• encourage students and staff to play an active role in shaping the university.
  
  As a university with a strong focus on sustainability, democracy education, and transdisciplinary thinking, Leuphana University is committed to an open university culture and the respectful exchange of different perspectives.
