Possible Uses of E-portfolios

E-portfolios can be used as a learning and assessment method in individual courses as well as throughout a programme. myPortfolio not only offers lecturers the opportunity to provide content. The students themselves can also use the platform as a personal learning and working environment and customise it. The use of e-portfolio enhances media literacy and sensitises for topics of digital literacy.

  • Reflecting on individual learning processes, developments, and procedures – on this basis, systematically improving weaknesses, building on strengths and analysing results
  • Visualising developments and progress over a longer period of time (not just the final result)
  • Documenting learning progress regardless of location in more self-learning or practice-orientated study phases
  • Staying in touch with the teacher, receiving feedback from teachers and other students and giving formative feedback
  • Using the documentation for lifelong learning and as a content link at the transition studies to subsequent professional fields.

An overview of the functions and possible uses can be found in this video (German only).
