Prevention and Treatment of Occupational Diseases

Every year, the German economy caused by sick leave of workers has costs in the billions. Often, these costs could be greatly reduced by prevention of (occupational) diseases or by their timely medical care. This is "Healthy at Work", the competence tandem examines several options for the prevention and treatment of occupational diseases: As a social business consultancy Healthy at Work wants to improve occupational health care for small and medium-sized enterprises. The scientists develop a web-based offering for these enterprises to detect the strains of their employees early and the promotion of healthy-keeping and performance-enhancing resources.

The responsibility for the overall project is borne by Prof Dr Dr Nils Ole Oermann (Leuphana University of Lüneburg), Prof Dr Swen Malte John (University of Osnabrueck), Prof Dr Axel Ekkernkamp (Greifswald University) and Prof Dr Björn Maier (Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University Mannheim) and Prof Dr med. Dipl.-Psych. Wulf Roessler (Psychiatric University Hospital Zurich and Leuphana University of Lüneburg).

International tandem partners of the project are Patricia Weinert, Prof Mirella Cacace and Dr Marcus Wiencke.
