Antworten auf die häufigsten Fragen zur Graduiertenfeier

Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about the graduation ceremony.

Invitation and registration

Who receives an invitation?

The invitations for the graduation ceremony will be sent digitally to the student e-mail addresses by the beginning of May (graduation ceremony June) or by the beginning of October (graduation ceremony November). All graduates who have demonstrably completed their studies by April 30 (June graduation ceremony) or September 30 (November graduation ceremony) will be invited. In this case, verifiable means that all grades have been registered with the Examination Office by the relevant date and that all credit points required for graduation have thus been achieved.

I have not received an invitation!

It may happen that you have unfortunately not received an invitation but have completed all the necessary requirements. In this case, you can register for a individual case examination  from May 7 until May 25. Unfortunately, requests by e-mail cannot be considered.

How are the invitations sent out?

Invitations will be sent digitally to student email addresses.

Registration information?

Registration for the graduation ceremony is handled by our ticketing partner Eveeno.

Your invitation, which we will send to your student email address, will contain a link to the Eveeno portal. You can use the personal access code included in the invitation email to purchase tickets for the various events on the day.

Please note that you must register for the event specified in your invitation email. Please also remember to order a ticket for yourself, as registration is not automatic. It is also necessary to order tickets for each event separately. This means that separate registration is required for the central ceremony, the faculty celebrations, and the graduation ball.

Due to limited space, there are a limited number of spots available for accompanying guests for each program item. If you wish to bring additional guests, you will find a link in the invitation email to add them to our waiting list. We will allocate any remaining spots after the registration deadline. The registration deadline is always two weeks prior to the event. After that, no further registrations can be accepted; this also applies to additional accompanying persons. We ask that you register by the deadline and that your registration is binding.

Are there fees for the events?

The daytime program, i.e., the central graduation ceremony and the decentralized certificate awarding, are free events. Admission to the ball costs 18 Euro in advance and at the box office. If all tickets have already been sold in advance via Eveeno, no further tickets will be available at the box office.

How can I change or cancel my registration?

Please send any change or cancellation requests to graduiertenfeier@leuphana.de.

My access code is no longer working!

Please send  an e-mail to graduiertenfeier@leuphana.de. Be sure to include your access code in your e-mail.

I forgot to buy ball tickets when I registered!

If capacity permits, there will be a separate online store for ball tickets only. You can still purchase tickets here if you missed this in the registration process. You will receive information on this at the appropriate time by e-mail to your student e-mail address.

Why can I only take a limited number of accompanying persons?

Due to capacity, we are unable to provide graduates with an unlimited number of accompanying persons. If you would like to bring additional people to the event, please contact us at graduiertenfeier@leuphana.de to have them added to our waiting list. If there are still spaces available after the registration deadline, we will get back to you in a timely manner. We ask for your understanding.

One or more of my companions have changed or are not coming after all

This is not a problem. Simply register with your new companion at the entrance to the relevant part of the event. As long as the number of people accompanying you does not change, no further action is required in advance. If, contrary to expectations, you arrive with fewer accompanying persons than registered, please send us a short email to graduiertenfeier@leuphana.de so that we can free up places for people on the waiting list

Day program

What happens at the central graduation ceremony?

In addition to the president and the management of the college or the Graduate School and the Professional School, a prominent keynote speaker as well as students and the speakers of the AStA will give speeches and honor the graduates with outstanding achievements during the respective central ceremony. The honors will be based on final grades as well as registration for the festivities. The current program can be found here.

What happens during the Celebrations within the faculties?

The faculty and department ceremonies will take place on campus in the afternoon. Each ceremony will include a formal diploma presentation. The organizers of each ceremony are responsible for the supporting program. You can find the location and time of your specific ceremony here in the current schedule.

Graduate Ball

Is there a charge for the Graduate Ball (even for graduates)?

Yes, there is a charge for all participants to attend the Graduate Ball. The admission price in November 2022 is 18 euros. The event will take place in the evening in the Libeskind Building.

This event offers you the opportunity to celebrate the completion of your studies together with your former fellow students* in a festive atmosphere. As this is an offer with additional effort and costs, the event is financially self-supporting through the tickets sold. The ticket prices are calculated in such a way that the event does not generate a profit for the university.

Will there be a box office for the ball?

If the ticket contingent has not yet been exhausted via the online bookings, there will be the opportunity to purchase remaining tickets on site. However, this possibility is by no means guaranteed. We therefore strongly recommend that all those who wish to be sure of gaining access purchase their tickets online in good time to avoid disappointment.

If capacity permits, there will be a separate online store for ball tickets only. This store will then also be open to all non-graduates. You will receive information about this at the appropriate time by e-mail to your student e-mail address.
