Community School Conference

The Community School Conference is the flagship event of the Innovation Community School Development and Leadership. It brings together members of the community from schools, academia, and government across Lower Saxony and the surrounding region. The focus is on networking, exchange, and learning with and from one another.

The Community School Conference brings together stakeholders from all over Lower Saxony to develop ideas together and strengthen networks.

The Community School Conference is an event that has been held at Leuphana University since 2024. It is tailored to the needs and topics of the community. Through workshops, keynote speeches, and other interactive formats, participants have the opportunity to connect with one another, gain new perspectives, nurture ideas, and further develop projects.

Second Community School Conference: Making a Bigger Difference Together

How can we shape school development together? And what are the actual benefits of cooperation when we talk about democracy education or open classroom practices? Under the title “Making a Bigger Difference Together - Cooperation as the Key to Effective School Development,” the Leuphana Innovation Community for School Development and Leadership hosted the second Community School Conference on March 19, 2026, where we explored these and similar questions together.

A focused discussion on the topic of "good schools".

Changing perspectives and gaining new insights for the school of tomorrow. That was the focus of the first Community School Conference organized by the Leuphana Innovation Community for School Development and Leadership on November 14, 2024. Nearly 50 representatives from schools, government, and research, as well as stakeholders from outside the school system, engaged in an in-depth exchange on the future of school education.

This question was the focus of the education track at the Communicorn Conference 2025 held at Leuphana University in Lüneburg. Representatives from academia, schools, government, politics, and civil society gathered for two days to develop perspectives on contemporary school development and collaborative learning.
