Teacher training: Core practices, internships, and partner schools

On Monday, October 20, 2025, Prof. Dr. em. Urban Fraefel (Zurich) will give a public lecture as part of the project band seminar “What makes a good campus and university school? How can they be further developed?” The Institute of Education cordially invites all interested parties to attend.

Prof. Dr. Urban Fraefel (Zurich, Switzerland) presents a way in which academic knowledge in teacher training and continuing education can be better linked to professional practice. Core practices, internships, and partner schools: these three concepts have in common that they offer students the prospect of combining academic knowledge with professional practice. To what extent can the goal of professional competence be achieved with these strategies, and what still needs to be done? This presentation discusses these questions and outlines possible perspectives.
