Movie Premiere in the Tunnel

2025-09-24 On September 18th, 2025, the tunnel in the old city wall of Lüneburg was transformed into a special place for art and encounters. The Leuphana Innovation Community Art and Culture had invited guests to an evening of film, discussion, and light installation.

The focus was on the documentary “Art is for everyone! Collaborations for art in public spaces,” which provided insights into the RADIANCE exhibition by the Kunstverein Lüneburg. The film highlighted how contemporary art can have an impact in unexpected places in urban spaces, how people can access artistic interventions, and what opportunities arise from local collaborations.

Afterwards, organizer Lana Bartusch from Leuphana spoke with Angela Schoop, director of the Kunstverein Lüneburg, Jess Tartas from the inclusive cultural project Düne, and artist Bernd Schulz. They highlighted the potential that art in public spaces can offer, the challenges that had to be overcome, and how the public reacts to art in urban spaces.

The light installation “Passage” by artist Bernd Schulz created an impressive atmosphere in the tunnel. As last year during Radiance, the fluorescent arrows once again illuminated the historic walls in front of around 50 guests.
