Scaling, networking, designing - Impact Workshop at Utopia
2025-10-15 When ideas grow: At the workshop on scaling social innovations, seven social enterprises forged plans on how they can make an even greater and more sustainable impact.
How can social innovations be scaled effectively? This was the question addressed by the scaling workshop organized by the Leuphana Social Innovation Community, which took place on October 9 at Utopia Lüneburg. For three hours, seven social enterprises from a wide range of industries worked on further developing their business and impact models—with the aim of thinking and designing their ideas on an even larger scale.
The focus was on how good ideas can have an impact beyond the local context. Based on theoretical input and inspiring practical examples of successful scaling processes, the participants developed their own scaling canvas. This helped them to reflect on their own innovations, formulate concrete scaling goals, and develop individual strategies. Through open exchange within the group, new perspectives were gained and the concepts were further refined.
At the end of the workshop, the social enterprises defined their next steps – so that the strategies developed can soon become reality. One thing became clear: social change requires not only good ideas, but also time, resources, and the courage to think big.
