Commitment and achievement recognised: 32 Germany Scholarships awarded at Leuphana
2026-05-18 Showing commitment, taking responsibility and excelling academically: 32 students from all disciplines at Leuphana University Lüneburg have now been awarded the Germany Scholarship for these achievements at a formal certificate presentation ceremony.
Around 350 students applied for a Deutschlandstipendium this year. The successful applicants will now receive monthly funding of 300 euros for one year – half of which is provided by the federal government and the other half by grants from companies, foundations, associations and private donors.
In his address, University President Sascha Spoun emphasised the social significance of the funding programme. The Germany Scholarship not only provides financial relief but also recognises the students’ attitude, initiative and future potential.
“Sponsors trust that talent will turn into responsibility, curiosity into creative power, and academic education into a contribution to our society,” Spoun continued. At the same time, he expressed the hope that the funding would open up new opportunities for students – for example, for new ideas, in-depth academic work or personal engagement alongside their studies.
The university extended special thanks to the numerous sponsors who make the Germany Scholarship at Leuphana possible. Once again, regional foundations such as the Lucia Pfohe Student Foundation, the Lüneburg University Foundation for Research and Business, and the Adalbert Zajadacz Foundation are playing a major role. The programme is also supported by, amongst others, the Alumni and Friends Association of Leuphana University Lüneburg, the Altner-Combecher-Kohler Foundation, CLAGE GmbH, the Edda Worminghaus Foundation, Frank Schach, the Hansa Partner Group, the Lions Club Lüneburg-Ilmenau, plietsch! Steuerberatungsgesellschaft mbH, Sparkasse Lüneburg, the Volksbank Lüneburger Heide Foundation and Studio Hamburg Serienwerft GmbH / Rote Rosen.
Anyone wishing to support talented students in their education can also contribute by making a partial donation. Further information is available here: www.leuphana.de/deutschlandstipendium-foerdern
