How can art and cultural organizations become more diverse and inclusive from within? How can works of art contribute to a more inclusive and diverse coexistence? And what can we learn from initiatives that are already working inclusively? At the first Future Foyer, Prof. Timon Beyes (Leuphana) discussed these questions with Dan Thy Nguyen (director of the fluctoplasma theater festival), Leyla Ercan (cultural consultant), Teresa Lucia Rosenkrantz (theater maker) and Florian Giese (actor at Klabauter Theater). After introductory impulses from the speakers, the panel and the 30 or so guests in attendance discussed the hurdles of the current funding structure in the arts and culture sector, the innovative potential of the independent scene and the implementation of inclusion in the work of the Klabauter Theater. “An evening full of inspiration for the Lüneburg art and culture scene” - that was the opinion not only of the organizers from Leuphana and Theater Lüneburg, but also of the majority of the cultural professionals in attendance.

The Series Zukunftsfoyer

As part of the Zukunftsfoyer event series, the classic theater foyer will become an experimental space for forward-looking discussions, concepts and new perspectives. As a joint initiative of Theater Lüneburg and the Leuphana Innovation Community Art and Culture, the series invites experts from research and practice to take a look at challenges and transformations in the cultural sector. It will continue in January 2026.
