Nutrition and agriculture: Food as a Relationship - Communicorn 2025
2025-11-05 Food is more than just sustenance. Food is about relationships—to the soil, to plants, to animals, and to ourselves.
In the core area of nutrition and agriculture at the Communicorn Conference of the Leuphana Social Innovation Community, it became clear that sustainable nutrition succeeds where it creates closeness rather than alienation. Community-supported agriculture, collective gastronomy, and new farm concepts show that there are ways to understand food as a communal good again. The discussions focused on healthy soils, fair working conditions, and working in harmony with nature. Food was understood as a social breeding ground, a place where community can grow.
The vision of the future, which was developed by the participants using a mapping method, shows a food culture in which plant-based dishes are the norm, rituals and encounters become part of everyday life, and small projects have room to grow beyond pure market logic. What remains is that food connects people. And change begins precisely where we harvest, cook, eat, and share together.
The Leuphana Innovation Community Sustainable Production is committed to a climate-neutral, resource-efficient and economically viable transformation of manufacturing companies and brings together stakeholders from science, industry and society.
