Special cases: United Kingdom and Switzerland

Until 2026/27: Study periods at most of Leuphana’s British partner universities are not eligible for funding under Erasmus+ until 2026/27. Erasmus partnerships exist only with the University of Edinburgh and the University of Glasgow (this does not apply to double-degree programmes). Students taking part in exchange programmes in Switzerland up to 2026/27 will, subject to sufficient funding, receive a study grant from the Swiss European Mobility Programme (SEMP). Applications for this grant are made as part of the application to the host university.

From 2027/28: From the 2027/28 academic year, the United Kingdom and Switzerland will once again participate in Erasmus. The call for applications for exchange places, to be published in autumn 2026, will specify which partners in the United Kingdom and Switzerland have entered into new Erasmus cooperation agreements.

Participation in the double degree programmes with the University of Glasgow is not funded by Erasmus. Unlike in traditional exchange programmes, you will pay (reduced) tuition fees.

Study Abroad at Partner Universities

At some (few) partner universities, Leuphana students pay reduced tuition fees. For more information, please refer to the current call for applications and the fact sheets in the partner university database.
