Further languages
The Language and Culture Team at Leuphana University enables students to learn a variety of languages during their studies, to expand previous language skills, and to get additional credit points.
Here you will find information on the following languages: Chinese, Italian, Catalán, Polish, and Hungarian.
If the language you want to learn is not included in our course offerings, we have materials for autonomous learning in the Self-Access Center. Additionally language that Leuphana does not offer can be taken at the VHS Lüneburg which is free of charge for Leuphana students.

Level: Beginning and low intermediate (A1 - A2)
Time: 4 hours per week + independent study
Reward: 5 additional credit points
For most people, the degree to which the structure of the language differs from that of other common languages means that more time has to be dedicated to learning this language than to learning a language more similar to one’s first language. However after only a few classes, you will be able to carry on simple conversations.

Arabic from A1, Chinese A2 or higher, Portuguese from A1 as well as other languages that are not offered by the Language and Culture Team in the Leuphana University can be taken by Leuphana students at the VHS Region Lüneburg. The course fee will be covered by the university. It is not possible to earn Credit Points for the language courses at VHS Region Lüneburg (neither as voluntary extra credit nor for the Bachelor's complementary studies).
