This internet-based test takes a maximum of 30 minutes. It is made up of listening and reading comprehension as well as grammar and vocabulary exercises with fill-in-the-blank and multiple choice questions.

How can I prepare for the test?

No preparation for the test is necessary.

When is the next placement test?

You can take the placement test at the Language and Culture Team's Self-Access Center (SLZ) (Universitätsallee 1, Building 5, Room 104). Please check their current opening hours ahead of time.

You will find out your test results immediately after completing the placement test. In addition, you will receive a document indicating the level you have reached. Please keep your test result in a safe place.

As a rule, you are allowed to take the test no more than once per semester. Since the test is standardized, if you did retake it, your score would change only minimally.
