Global Program Partnerships

The Leuphana University of Lüneburg has more than 200 international university partnerships. These worldwide partners include some close ties with renowned universities. This provides students with the chance to participate in international programs that have joint or double degrees. Students receive not only first-class academic training and the opportunity to develop their intercultural skills but also the possibility to receive a joint degree certificate from both universities. If students choose a double-degree program, they receive two degrees, one from Leuphana and the other from the partner university.

University of Glasgow – UK

Located in Scotland and established in 1451, the University of Glasgow promotes innovation and has one of the widest range of courses in the UK. Their international community consists of over 28,000 students that come from over 140 countries (03/25). A particular highlight is the university’s undergraduate honours degrees which give students flexibility to try out several subjects before choosing a specialist area. With a large focus on independent study, the University of Glasgow offers subjects across 11 different disciplines.

As a multicultural university with one third of students and researchers from abroad, international relations is a daily reality for the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB), just like the city of Brussels itself, one of the world’s most cosmopolitan cities. Its outward-looking position with regard to Europe and the world has resulted in a number of agreements, collaborations and special partnerships being set up with some of the world’s top universities.

Università degli Studi di Genova – Italy

Established in 1481 and located in the picturesque coastal city of Genoa, the Università degli Studi di Genova offers a unique and enriching experience for international students. With over 36,000 students and over 3000 internationals, it is a perfect place to pursue a global education. The university provides a wide range of English and Italian-taught programs in the fields of engineering, humanities, marine sciences, and business. Students can choose from bachelor’s, master’s and PhD programs covering 10 subjects.

Universiteit Groningen – the Netherlands

Established 1614, the University of Groningen offers a rich academic tradition as one of Europe’s oldest universities. A vibrant city, Groningen welcomes over 35,000 students from more than 120 countries. Students can choose from over 180 English-taught bachelor’s, master’s and PhD degree programs offered across 11 faculties.

Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals - Spain

Institut Barcelona d'Estudis Internacionals (IBEI) is an inter-university institute created in 2004 as a joint effort of all five public universities in the Barcelona metropolitan area and CIDOB (Barcelona Centre for International Affairs). Their aim was and is the promotion of postgraduate training and research in politics and international relations in order to advance the understanding of global challenges to governance in our world. As IBEI is now into its second decade, it has achieved a high level of recognition as an academic and research centre at both European and international level.

NOVA University Lisbon - Portugal

Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, established on August 11, 1973, is the youngest of Lisbon’s three State universities. It strives to enhance higher education and support Portugal’s growth. As a European university grounded in research and committed to a global and civic vision, NOVA is dedicated to establishing its international presence and developing a talent policy that represents European values on a global scale.

Université Paris-Est Créteil – France

Université Paris-Est Créteil (UPEC, established 1970) is a renowned French university located just outside of Paris and is characterized by a strong international focus and a broad range of subjects. Known for its cutting-edge research and modern facilities, UPEC welcomes a diverse student body from around the globe. Specializing in fields such as business, law, health sciences, engineering and the humanities, students benefit from global partnerships as well as a rich cultural experience.

University of the West Indies – Jamaica

The University of the West Indies (UWI), established in 1948, is a regional university with five campuses across the Caribbean. These include four traditional campuses located in Mona (Jamaica), St. Augustine (Trinidad), Cave Hill (Barbados), and Five Islands (Antigua), plus the innovative Global Campus—a hybrid virtual campus with 42 physical sites across the region. Additionally, UWI offers an entirely online Open Campus, delivering high-quality education through modern internet technology to meet the needs of students wherever they are.
