Content and Idea
The Master’s program is a joint program by Leuphana University of Lüneburg in Germany, the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands, and the University of Valencia in Spain. The three universities contribute to the program with their distinguished profiles in the respective areas. The program offers a highly attractive and academically outstanding education in work and organizational psychology. Specifically, the program aims at the development of theoretical, methodological, organizational, and communicative skills that are relevant to realize, develop, and evaluate research and applied projects within work and organizational psychology.
The program addresses students who are committed to excellence and seek to pursue an academic or managerial career in the specialized area of work and organizational psychology. The program links advanced theoretical and methodological knowledge with hands-on research training to implement projects in the laboratory and the field. Furthermore, the program will foster the students’ understanding of the most pressing challenges of the working society in the 21st century. The program is especially qualified for students who are interested in a follow-up PhD program in the field of work and organizational psychology.
The international environment across three different European countries helps the students to acquire extensive intercultural competencies, collaborative, communicative, and language skills in addition to their professional training. The program provides students the opportunity to develop strong international social ties and to take the perspectives of their counterparts. All these skills are highly important for professionals and researchers in the globalized area of work and organizations. On successful completion of the program, students will be awarded a joint Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Work and Organizational Psychology from Leuphana University of Lüneburg, from the University of Maastricht, and from the University of Valencia.
Programme Structure
The first semester takes place at the University of Maastricht. In the first semester, students learn basic and advanced knowledge in the areas of human resources, organizations, human cognition and performance, work psychology, and statistics.
The second semester will be held in Lüneburg at Leuphana University. The courses cover human resource management and negotiation from an intercultural perspective. Furthermore, the students will learn about classical and the latest contributions to work and organizational psychology in an intensive reading course. Methodological skills will be provided in courses on research designs and in a group research project.
In the third semester, students will move to Valencia. Students attend advanced courses around the main area of interventions in work and organizational psychology. In-depth classes on intervention methods and a group research project will be taught.
The fourth semester takes place at one of the three universities, where the students will write their Master thesis. In the first semester, students will be provided with a list of general topics for their research project/ Master thesis, and the corresponding universities for supervision.

Career Prospects
Students will be best prepared for an academic career or a career in internationally operating organizations with departments in the field of work and organizational psychology. Depending on their individual profile, students have multiple career options especially in human performance related research areas such as human resources, work psychology, or organizational development. Application and admission requirements
The Master's program is aimed at national and international students who either have a university Bachelor degree in Psychology, a university Bachelor degree with predominantly psychological components, or any equivalent (70 ECTS Psychology, 30 ECTS Methods). This means that UAS degrees do not meet the entry requirement.
For applicants whose first language is not English, the awarding universities set a minimum English Language proficiency level.
