For those who are new to the German education system, we recommend the online course "How to apply for a Phd in Germany" provided by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The course can be accessed after free registration, for an overview of how to start a doctorate.

Doing a doctorate is a very individual process that affects all areas of your life. Therefore, you often need more than just the most important information on academic requirements, formal prerequisites and timetables. It is also important to deal with your expectations, goals and perspectives as well as the strategic planning of your next steps.
