Korean is a rhythmic language with a clearly structured, logical writing system called Hangul. This alphabet was developed in the 15th century and consists of only 24 basic characters (consonants and vowels) that are systematically combined. The vowels are based on the philosophical idea of heaven, earth, and humanity, while the consonants are based on the anatomical features of articulation. Hangul is well thought out, logical, and surprisingly easy to learn.
