What you can expect

Where and how do cultural spaces of possibility arise in urban areas? Students of the Bachelor's program in Cultural Studies addressed this question in a project seminar led by Duygu Örs and Lana Bartusch. As part of their ethnographic research, the students developed artistic approaches to cultural organization and practice. The exhibition objects resulting from their research address topics such as democratic practices in urban space, the marking of public space with stickers, and the unwritten rules and norms of cultural institutions. The exhibition objects enter into a dialogue with the ongoing exhibition by Samuel Bich, which questions the conditions of production and presentation of contemporary art based on archival research.

Organizing courses outside of university spaces, at and with partners from the field, is an important part of the cooperative collaboration within the Leuphana Innovation Community Art and Culture project.
