Not only for students: Erasmus+ for technical and administrative staff
2025-07-03 Want to think outside the box, meet international colleagues and experience Europe from a completely new perspective? The European Commission's Erasmus program can also fund short further- and advanced-training stays in other European countries!
Technical and administrative staff can apply for funding as part of an “Erasmus staff mobility” -, for example, to take part in intensive language courses or other training measures related to their work at Leuphana.
Fascinating further- and advanced-training can also take place directly at European universities, which organize so-called “staff weeks” for colleagues throughout Europe focusing on various topics. The one-week programs usually include workshops, seminars, lectures and other networking activities as well as a cultural program and learning more about the host university. The focus is on further developing practical skills, exchanging ideas and strengthening international cooperation.
Jan Teichmüller from the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Cultural Studies successfully applied for a staff week at the University of Rennes 2 last year:
Due to an existing cooperation with the Université Rennes 2, I received an invitation to the staff week. I was immediately impressed by the program. At the same time, it was a great opportunity to get to know the university and my local colleagues.
Jan Teichmüller sees the unique added value in the exchange with international colleagues, which would not have been possible in other training formats:
A Staff Week offers participants space and time for exchange. This is important and helped me a lot in reflecting on my own thoughts and actions in professional, private and social terms – because after all, people from different nations and cultures come together at a Staff Week.
For me, it was also a welcome opportunity to immerse myself in the French language and culture once again and to expand my knowledge. In the end, it was a very enriching experience when barriers are broken down and your own world expands."
The IC forwards announcements of Staff Weeks at Leuphana's partner universities to the appropriate institutions or directly to interested colleagues. On the IC website you will also find the IMotion database, in which new Staff Weeks are regularly published. If you are interested in an offer, please contact us so that we can check whether sufficient funds are available and discuss the next steps.
