Henriette Herz-Scouting-Program

The Henriette Herz Scouting Program enables German professors to directly recruit particularly talented international researchers for a Humboldt Research Fellowship through the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.

The program strengthens the international networking of German universities and research institutions, facilitates access to highly qualified talents, and makes Germany as a research location more globally visible and attractive.

Program Lines

The Humboldt Foundation specifically wants to recruit researchers as Scouts who have an international network and wish to expand their team with excellent Humboldt Research Fellows. Both rising researchers who hold a (junior) professorship or group leadership position and established researchers can apply in two program lines. Applications from people who have not yet had any connection to the Humboldt Foundation are especially welcome.

As a selected Scout, you can propose up to three scientific talents from abroad. They receive the fellowship after a formal review in a direct award procedure.

Detailed information on the Henriette Herz Scouting Program can be found on the program website of the Humboldt Foundation.

Application

There are no deadlines for submitting applications. All applications are processed in a continuous procedure. Once your application is complete, it will be forwarded to independent expert reviewers and, upon submission of the written expert reviews, presented to the selection committee for decision at the next possible selection meeting.

If you have questions about the program or would like support with the application process, please feel free to contact us.
