Annual Appraisals – information and discussion for research assistants (WiMi)

According to your terms of employment, your immediate superior (your professor) is obliged to offer you an annual appraisal (review) once a year. You may be wondering what the purpose and benefits of such an appraisal are for you. You might feel unsure about what to expect during an annual review and how to handle it. Perhaps you have specific concerns or questions that you would like to discuss in a safe space with colleagues in a similar situation? The aim of this event is to familiarise you with the framework, the process, and the purpose and benefits of annual appraisals for your academic career development, and to clarify any outstanding questions so that you can approach the review with confidence and a clear sense of purpose.
