Leuphana’s longstanding commitment to sustainability, transdisciplinary research, and societal engagement is an excellent addition to our network. The university’s innovative approaches and strong international outlook—particularly its initiatives in sustainable development and transformative education—resonate deeply with the mission and values of the DWIH São Paulo. We look forward to supporting Leuphana in strengthening academic and innovation-driven collaborations with Brazilian partners and jointly advancing research and exchange on some of the most pressing challenges of our time. The association of Leuphana with the DWIH São Paulo will further enrich our diverse community and foster impactful synergies between Germany and Brazil in science, education, and society.”
The German Centres for Research and Innovation (DWIH) are a network of German research organisations, universities and research-based companies. In six cities around the world, the DWIH provide a joint platform for German innovation leaders, showcase the capabilities of German research and connect German researchers with local cooperation partners. The DWIH aim at increasing the visibility of German innovation leaders around the world, raising awareness of the German science, research and innovation landscape, advising scientists in Germany and the host countries, and connecting actors at the local level.
In six major international cities, the DWIH strengthen Germany’s role as a land of research, science and innovation (São Paulo, New York, Moscow, New Delhi, Tokyo and San Francisco) work together with actors in science and business from Germany and the respective host country: with universities and non-university research institutions, with intermediary and funding organisations, and with research-based companies, including start-ups. This gives rise to valuable cross-border networks that interlink science and business. The actors from the various sectors profit equally from the advisory services offered by the DWIH.
