Background
Startup Migrants is a Norwegian-German startup that aims to create an inclusive startup culture across Europe.
Many migrants with an affinity for start-ups lack the knowledge about local structures, networks and cultures to get off to a good start in other countries. A lot of talent thus remains unused. This is where the concept of Startups Migrants comes in. In the Startup Preschool, a three-day intensive course in entrepreneurship, network development and business administration, multicultural founders are strengthened and networked with the local startup ecosystem.
In this way, the Startup Preschool contributes to a diverse startup culture in several ways. The preschools that have been carried out so far have shown that women in particular benefit from the programme among those with a migration background who are interested in founding a company: They make up a share of over 50 percent and can be decisively encouraged and supported in their start-up intentions.
The Preschool is active in Scandinavia and Germany. Since the first Preschool, more than 400 people have already applied to participate and more than 40 companies have been founded by Startup Preschool alumni so far.
The Startup Preschool Lüneburg takes place in cooperation with Startup Niedersachsen and Utopia.
