A Grant to Fund my Own Position – How does that work?
For an academic career, the postdoc phase is crucial, but funding is scarce, and often the continued reliance on a more experienced academic to provide the funding is at odds with the necessity to strengthen your scientific independence. Third-party funding lines that allow you to finance your own position for several years are thus highly desired. In this short workshop, we will have a look at several such funding lines, such as Emmy Noether, Change!, MSCA, DFG Research Grant, or the Walter-Benjamin Program. We will look at conditions and requirements as well as challenges and limits of these programs, to assist you in finding the right one for you.
This event is part of the German Postdoc Appreciation Week. Leuphana researchers can register via the intranet, as usual. Researchers from other universities are asked to register via email to the department for personnel development for academic staff. Zoom dial-in details will be sent out shortly before the event.
