Support

Leuphana supports its doctoral researchers throughout their dissertation with a wide range of measures. These include both financial and non-financial support schemes designed to help them successfully complete their doctorate.

Qualification Fund

The most important funding instrument is the Qualification Fund, which provides a generous amount of funding to support your academic networking - for example, conference attendance and research stays. Funding is awarded on an application basis and through grants; currently, up to two applications per year per person are permitted (subject to change).

Dissertation Awards

Leuphana University of Lüneburg confers up to five Dissertation Awards each year to honour remarkable academic achievements in the field of the doctorate. These awards recognise outstanding research work submitted and defended by doctoral candidates at one of Leuphana's five schools within one academic year. The Dissertation Awards provide the winners with visible recognition for their future careers.

Qualification Hub

We support the career of our doctoral researchers through the exclusive offerings in our Qualification Hub. We recommend that you begin your extracurricular professional development no later than your second year of doctoral studies and gradually build a targeted (postdoc) profile. Stop by - it's worth it!

Scholarships at Leuphana

To support academic development, Leuphana University Lüneburg offers scholarships for the doctoral phase, subject to the availability of funds. Funding your doctoral studies with a scholarship is an attractive way to devote yourself to your own research project with as much free time as possible.
