Founders with good ideas can change the world. But where do the ideas come from? And how do I know if I can become a founder? Few career decisions are as fraught with uncertainty as the step into self-employment. STEP can help you!

What is STEP?

STEP is an action-oriented entrepreneurship training. This means that during the training you can find out whether starting a business is something for you by working on a real start-up project. With STEP, you will learn the first steps of a start-up in a team and gain real entrepreneurial experience.

You can find a detailed description of the training at: www.step-training.com

WHAT WILL I LEARN AT STEP?

The aim of the STEP training is to teach entrepreneurial skills and strengthen entrepreneurial self-efficacy. During the training you will get input from the fields of entrepreneurship (e.g. on identifying business ideas), management (e.g. marketing) and psychology (e.g. dealing with setbacks; goal setting and planning). You will actually implement this input in a start-up team in a small project and set up a company for practice purposes during the training. All training content is designed for direct application to the business.

WHEN AND HOW DOES IT TAKE PLACE?

The STEP training will be offered in the winter semester 2021/22 and will (probably) take place entirely online.

Kickoff for the training is the 21st of October 2021, from then on there will be live sessions (via Zoom) on Thursday afternoons (14:15 to 17:15) every two weeks. Between the live sessions you will work in teams on your project.

The final presentation for the projects will take place on the 27th of January 2022 and will be held either online or in presence depending on the pandemic situation.

Please note that the programme involves a not inconsiderable time commitment. Depending on the start-up project, the programme will involve between 5 and 10 hours of effort per week.

The successful participation in the training (participation in at least 4 live sessions, as well as the kick-off session and the final presentation) will be certified.
