Communicorn 2025: When Vision turns into action
2025-10-09 Questioning, experimenting, connecting – at the Communicorn Conference 2025 in mid-September, around 150 people eager to make a change came together. To the delight of the hosting Leuphana Social Innovation Community, they participated actively, creating a space for fruitful exchange in various core areas of social life.
Whether in the core areas of youth and education, crafts and technology, media and journalism, or nutrition and agriculture – participants showed great commitment in workshops, practical discussions, and open exchange sessions. Together, they tested methods to initiate transformation processes or visited places of change in Lüneburg to be inspired by the practical knowledge of their hosts.
Particular highlights were the keynotes by Kübra Gümüşay and Pablo Muñoz. The author and activist Gümüşay motivated the attendees to develop visions but not to wait for perfect conditions to implement them. At the same time – entirely in the spirit of the Communicorn idea: shaping change together – she advocated for building genuine connections, putting down roots, and collectively changing things for the better.
On the second day, Pablo Muñoz focused on the interplay between research and practice. He is driven by the collaborative work on impact-oriented projects. His credo: research should serve the community. This was ultimately reflected in the future methods workshops on the second day. With the help of field-tested and scientifically-backed methods, participants approached their visions and developed initial steps to integrate them into their daily lives.
The organizing team, led by Charlotte von Wulffen and Dr. Frederic Penz from the Leuphana Social Innovation Community, summed it up: "We are taking a lot with us – the experience that visions of the future need depth and time. That conflicts are part of the process. That methods are only as good as the spaces in which they are applied. And that openness and structure don't have to be opposites, but can complement each other."
