Students are driving digital transformation in schools.
2025-04-30 Two student projects from Leuphana University demonstrate how digital transformation in schools can be reimagined. The two groups from the seminar ‘Education of the Future’ are bringing their creative solutions for digital transformation to Wolfenbüttel.
Students from the fields of environmental sciences, cultural studies, political science, and law accepted the invitation of the Henriette Breymann Comprehensive School in Wolfenbüttel (HBG), which is part of the Leuphana Innovation Community for School Development and Leadership. At the school’s educational conference, they presented their innovative concepts for digital transformation to the teaching staff.
As part of the seminar “Education of the Future – A Transformation Process,” students developed future scenarios for the comprehensive school, guided by the central question of what transformation in educational practice could look like. These scenarios aim to unlock the potential of existing digital technologies within the community school, make productive use of them, and thus further develop education in a digital context. Two of the concepts so strongly impressed John Dauert, the school’s didactic director, that HBG intends to integrate them into its school development processes.
MINDFUL DIGITALIZATION AND A TRAVELING CONFERENCE
The two student projects from Leuphana University demonstrate the diverse ways digital transformation in schools can be envisioned. The concept of “Mindful Digitalization” raises awareness of the environmental impact of digital technologies and calls for sustainable school development. In contrast, the “Traveling Conference” brings digital education to rural areas – mobile, participatory, and supported by accompanying courses. The Innovation Community is excited to see what comes next!
