Integrated study abroad at Cranfield University

Responsible Management

The international cooperation between Cranfield University and Leuphana University Lüneburg gives you as a student of the programme Management & Entrepreneurship the opportunity to complete an international course of studies with integrated semesters abroad in Cranfield, UK - and to receive a degree from each of the two universities after successfully completing both years of study.

Objectives

The double degree is centred on the fact that success in business is not just about what you know, but about how you apply what you know. This is why the main objective of the international cooperation is to create responsible management thinking, improving business performance and inspiring the next generation of business leaders.

The international cooperation features a distinctive blend of theory with practical application through highly experiential simulations, consulting, competitions and project work. A three-month paid placement project will provide you with invaluable practical work experience and will enable you to apply what you have learnt during the course in an organisational environment. During this programme, you will broaden your management knowledge and gain the potential to build a global network of contacts.

Structure

The international cooperation between Cranfield University and Leuphana University Lüneburg will take place in Lüneburg, Germany, and Cranfield, UK, whereby students will spend the first year of the programme in Lüneburg and the second year in Cranfield.

If you decide to register for the double degree, you will need to prepare your application during your first semester at Leuphana University Lüneburg.

In Lüneburg, the first and second semesters of the Master's programme Management & Entrepreneurship must be completed. In Cranfield, you continue your studies in the course MSc Management, which must be completed as well. Description of modules

Master's Dissertation

Towards the end of your time in Cranfield, you will begin writing your dissertation. You can choose whether to write your master's dissertation in Cranfield or Lüneburg:

Within the course of the Masters of Management dissertation at Cranfield University you will undertake a three-month paid placement project. If you decide to write your dissertation at Leuphana University, a placement in Germany is possible, too. In either case the dissertation will be drawn up in the English language. Depending on your topic, it is also possible to have a joint supervision by professors from Cranfield and Lüneburg.

Leuphana University Lüneburg recognises the credits awarded at Cranfield depending on the equivalence of topics. Cranfield University recognises the master's dissertation if written in Lüneburg. To accelerate and simplify the recognition procedure, you will conclude a learning agreement in advance (during your second Leuphana Semester) with your Leuphana programme director.

After two years of study, you will be awarded the two degrees MSc Management & Entrepreneurship and MSc Management and therefore be extremely well-prepared for an international career in both academia or business.

In the event that a student should fail the Cranfield MSc it is still possible to recognise credits awarded in Cranfield and progress onto year two at Leuphana University Lüneburg, but in such cases the student would only be eligible to write the master's dissertation in Lüneburg and receive the MSc degree from Leuphana University.
