Dear lecturers, 

A new semester is beginning – and with it come many ideas, questions and plans relating to your teaching. We at the Leuphana Teaching Service would like to extend a warm welcome to you and support you along the way. Here’s what we can do for you:

  • Submitting applications: The Teaching Service offers professional  support with your applications – from editorial revisions to coordinating more complex applications for teaching and curriculum development projects.
  • Advice: Our team will be happy to offer you personalised advice on any questions you may have regarding your teaching and its further development – simply email us at: lehrservice@leuphana.de. If you have any questions about the use of AI, please feel free to book an appointment for an AI consultation.
  • Teaching Design: We support you in designing your courses to be interactive and engaging, and in effectively integrating digital tools into your teaching. On our Teaching portal, you’ll find helpful information and resources on teaching design, data protection-compliant tools and their areas of application at Leuphana. Please also take a look at the continuing professional development programme on the Workshops & Training website.
  • AI in the teaching context: Would you like to use AI tools in your teaching? We can advise you on this. On our websites, you will also find:
  • Examinations: We offer support in designing examination formats and assist you with the implementation of digital examination formats – please feel free to contact us at: lehrservice@leuphana.de.
  • Information: What’s happening in higher education? We bring together the latest developments and examples of best practice for you. Please subscribe to our newsletter to stay up to date and ensure you don’t miss any relevant calls for teaching projects, current developments in teaching, best practices, or internal and external events.
  • You can find news on AI in higher education in our team – simply join and choose from the curated channels, e.g. on AI tools, LLMs, prompting and use cases.

Workshop series on AI in teaching

From October 2026, we will be continuing our series on AI in teaching with the following topics:  

  • AI for beginners: self-study, fundamentals and responsible use
  • Saving time in lesson preparation with AI tools
  • Ethics and AI
  • AI for language, sound and music in teaching
  • Designing future-oriented assessments (in German)
  • Assessment in the digital and AI age (in English)
  • Research with AI
  • Guiding AI-supported student writing
  • Chatbots and prompting strategies – an introduction
  • Media design with AI (images, audio, avatars and video)

Haven’t found what you’re looking for yet and would like to work on a specific thematic or methodological focus with a group of colleagues, or explore particular areas of application for AI? Networking events for teaching staff

The Teaching Service has set up various networks to bring teaching staff together, facilitate the exchange of experiences and share examples of good practice: the Moodle network, the myPortfolio network and the network for teachers with special responsibilities (LfbA).

Make the most of feedback and evaluation!

Feedback and dialogue help you to involve students in your teaching and to further develop your teaching: seek feedback and discuss the results with your students. You can choose between the customisable evaluation tools offered by the Course Evaluation (LVE) (digital questionnaire) or the qualitative feedback process ‘Shift!’ (moderated dialogue). You can register for the processes until 28 October 2026:
