Homecoming Day

On 20 June, the Graduate School will celebrate its first Homecoming Day with graduates of the certificate programme ‘Leadership in Gesellschaft und Wirtschaft.’ The focus will be on professional development after completing a doctorate. 

All alumni with a doctorate and all interested doctoral candidates are warmly invited to attend!

Programme

In the career talk, three alumni with doctorates will talk about their professional experiences, development opportunities in various positions, and important decisions in their careers.

After completing her doctorate, Dr. Nina Lemmens initially worked as a journalist before joining the DAAD, where she held various positions, including head of the London and New York offices. She then moved to the Joachim Herz Foundation, where she spent five years as programme director, followed by a role as CEO of Open Embassy for Democracy in Bonn.

Dr. Friederike von Cossel completed her doctorate at Leuphana University at the interface between cultural studies and business administration, focusing on theatre programming. She will talk about her career as the managing director of a castle, her time as a manager at GEOMAR (Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research in Kiel) and her current role as managing director of the KomponistenQuartier in Hamburg.

Dr. Simon Norris completed his doctorate at Leuphana a year ago. He now works as a senior sustainability consultant at nbs partners and will share his experiences of starting his career after completing his doctorate.

We look forward to an inspiring panel discussion with exciting insights into the career decisions of our three guests. 

Afterwards, the summer get-together will provide time and space for further discussion and the opportunity to celebrate and network over snacks and drinks in an informal atmosphere.
