Zotero: Don't get lost in the details - a short introduction (Zoom)
Collecting and organizing references, creating literature lists or inserting references and bibliographies into a paper are all part of academic writing. Reference management programs are helpful tools that can make these tasks much easier. Zotero is a reference management program that grew out of the open-source movement. The desktop version runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux computers.
In this short introduction, an experienced colleague will demonstrate how to save search results from catalogs and databases directly into Zotero, how to attach and annotate PDFs, and how to transfer the collected references into your paper.
For the demonstration, the following systems/programs will be used:
- Windows 10 or higher
- Zotero 8 for Windows
- Firefox or Chrome
- MS Word for Windows or LibreOffice
Everyone who is interested is welcome to attend. Please register for the workshop. It will only take place if there are a minimum number of registrations. Zoom log-in details will be provided on the day of the event.
- If you would like to actively follow the demonstration, please install the program before the event. Installation instructions can be found below under “Documents” or on the Zotero website: https://www.zotero.org/support/installation. Unfortunately, there will be no time to troubleshoot installation problems during the training itself.
- No prior knowledge is necessary; the event is specifically aimed at beginners.
