Gallery talks

During its anniversary year, Leuphana Graduate School invites students, doctoral candidates and all those who are interested in Graduate Education to join us in a lively debate. In the summer semester 2019, three gallery talks are scheduled to provide an opportunity for public discussion: External guests will share their visions and concerns of Graduate Education with us – bring your questions and join the discussion!

Graduate Spirit – a Must-Have at Leuphana Grad School?

While it is common for US-students to identify with their university and even remain strongly connected with their alma mater after graduation, German universities usually do not establish any kind of graduate or undergraduate cultural spirit.

But why not? Wouldn't there be an additional benefit for both sides? Come and discuss with our guests.

Master Individuale – Chance or Challenge of a Liberal Graduate Education?

Professional Doctorate – Vielfaltsgedanke oder Promotion Light?

At German universities, obtaining a doctorate is closely linked with the perspective of a career in research. Yet, what about professionals who are interested in research and intend to do a doctorate parallel to a full-time job? Should doctoral programs with a strong practical focus be considered a gain or rather a loss of quality?
