Getting Started on Your Proposal: A Hands-on Workshop for Master’s Students

If you are a master’s student who has just started or is about to start on your thesis, this hands-on workshop is for you. In this session, you will learn more about writing processes and begin to map your individual approach and project schedule. Having reflected on your approach to conducting research and reviewing the literature, you will test several simple tools that can be used to generate and develop ideas and questions. By adding these versatile tools to your repertoire, you will also be better prepared to navigate many of the challenges at the beginning of the writing process, for example procrastination. Interacting with other participants, you will also use more sophisticated tools to generate content for the proposal for your thesis. At the end of the workshop, you will not only have started to work on the proposal, but you will also be familiar with a toolkit that will help you to get started on your most demanding writing project to date, your thesis.

There are no prerequisites for enrolling in this workshop, but you should be, as noted above, be working on or about to get started on your master’s thesis. You will be asked to engage with the work of others and encouraged to share yours. All information provided by participants during the workshop must not be shared with others.
