Does my first degree fulfill the requirements of consecutivity for my desired study program?

The selection committee decides on the relevance of your first degree. It will review your application after the application deadline. For legal reasons, we are unable to carry out a preliminary check of your documents. Please feel free to use the information material, especially the list of consecutive subjects on our website, to make your own realistic assessment of your suitability.

Can I catch up on missing CP for consecutivity in the Masters programme?

No, unfortunately you cannot. Consecutivity is an admission requirement and must be proven at the time of application.

Does work experience in the field of the Masters programme also count as proof of consecutivity?

No, work experience does not count for consecutiveity. This is because consecutiveity requires that your Bachelors degree (or equivalent degree) is relevant to the subject, so that your Masters programme can build on your previous degree. Work experience cannot contribute to this.

How do I prove the 30 CP related to sustainability for the Masters programme Sustainability Science: Ecosystems, Biodiversity and Society?

First of all, we would like to note that the requirement of 30 credit points (CPs) related to sustainability is deliberately kept vague, as in principle applicants from the most diverse disciplines should be given the chance to be admitted to the Masters programme Sustainability Science.

In order to demonstrate sustainability relevance, it is of course optimal if the relevance is already visible in the course title, although this is not absolutely necessary. The sustainability relation can also be demonstrated in the module description. It is therefore always advisable to include the module descriptions. However, the required CPs for the proof of consecutiveity do not necessarily have to be proven by the subject with whose degree you are applying for the Masters programme, but can also be provided by additionally taken courses. You can therefore also prove the missing CPs through modules from another degree programme.

Do I have to submit a CV and a letter of motivation?

No, a CV and a letter of motivation do not have to be submitted and are not included in the selection process. There are exceptions for International Law of Global Security, Peace and Development, Psychology and Sustainability and Work & Organizational Psychology, which you can find on the pages of the study programmes.

Why can't I find Leuphana on the UniAssist website?

You will not find Leuphana with its degree programmes on the Uni-Assist website until the start of our application periods, because you can only apply then.

Can I apply to more than one Masters programme?

In principle, you can only apply for one Masters programme of the Leuphana Graduate School.

I have a different English certificate than the ones listed. Do you accept these as well?

No, only the listed tests you can find under the section “English proficiency” are valid.

What does a semester at Leuphana cost?

The semester contribution for one semester currently amounts to 367.55 Euros. This includes, among other things, the ticket for public transportation, fees for the administration and the “Studierendenwerk” (student union). There are no other tuition fees at Leuphana. Exceptions apply to programmes that lead to a joint or double degree. Information on the costs can be found on the respective pages of the programmes.

Can I also study part-time (while employed)?

Part-time study for those who work full time is possible at the Professional School. You can apply for part-time study at the Graduate School. For more information on part-time study, click here.

I don't have EU citizenship, but I completed my Bachelor's degree in an EU country. Do I still have to apply via uni-assist?

Whether you have to apply via uni-assist does not depend on your nationality, but on the place where you completed your Bachelor's degree. If your Bachelor's degree was completed in one of the countries listed above, you can apply directly via myCampus. Otherwise, please use uni-assist for your application.
